Ask the Expert: Systematic Reviews Series
In Partnership with the Systematic Reviews Network (SRN)
The Ask the Expert: Systematic Reviews Series was an interactive, expert-led online training initiative hosted by the Centicini Team in partnership with Systematic Reviews Network (SRN). The session was designed to create a direct, open platform where participants could engage experienced systematic reviewers and methodologists, ask practical questions, and gain clarity on conducting high-quality evidence-based systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
Structured as a hands-on, discussion-driven series, the event focused on demystifying complex aspects of systematic reviews that are often poorly understood in traditional academic settings. Participants explored core foundations such as review question formulation, protocol development, literature searching, screening, and data extraction, as well as advanced topics including meta-analysis interpretation and GRADE assessments. Rather than a one-directional lecture, the format encouraged real-time questions, case-based explanations, and problem-solving, allowing participants to directly connect theory with practice.
A major highlight of the series was its emphasis on methodological rigor and decision-making, helping participants understand not just how to perform systematic reviews, but why certain methodological choices matter. The collaboration with SRN further strengthened the training by embedding global best practices and reinforcing the importance of transparency, reproducibility, and critical appraisal in evidence synthesis.
Overall, the Ask the Expert Series reinforced Centicini’s role as a trusted authority in systematic review training, showcasing our commitment to accessible knowledge-sharing, community engagement, and strengthening global capacity in evidence-based research.
