science The Laboratory
This lab adopts a multidisciplinary and systems-oriented approach to environmental health and climate change research. It emphasises the application of robust evidence synthesis methods to evaluate the health impacts of environmental exposures and climate-related hazards, as well as the effectiveness of mitigation and adaptation strategies.
Interns in this lab receive structured training and mentorship in research design, evidence synthesis, and manuscript development, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to research that supports environmental health policy, climate resilience, and sustainable development goals.
psychology Research Methodologies
Projects undertaken within this research group typically involve:
-
Systematic reviews and meta-analyses examining the health impacts of environmental exposures such as air pollution, water contamination, and chemical hazards
-
Evidence synthesis on climate change–related health outcomes, including heat stress, extreme weather events, and vector-borne diseases
-
Reviews of occupational and environmental risk factors affecting population health
-
Population-based analyses of environmental health inequalities and vulnerable groups
-
Evaluation of climate adaptation and mitigation interventions from a public health perspective
-
Reviews of environmental policies and regulatory frameworks influencing health outcomes
-
Critical appraisal of study designs and data quality in environmental and climate health research
-
Translation of environmental and climate health evidence into policy-relevant and practice-oriented outputs
Internship Outcomes
Through participation in this lab, interns gain hands-on experience in:
-
Environmental and climate health research methodologies
-
Systematic review and evidence synthesis techniques
-
Critical appraisal of environmental health studies
-
Structured academic writing and publication processes
-
Collaborative research and interdisciplinary scholarship
This cluster is ideal for interns interested in environmental health, climate change, public health policy, and sustainable development, while contributing to rigorous, publication-driven research projects.
